Lidru Gaon - Kashmir (Where you do nothing :) )
The name Lidru comes from the beautiful river Lidder, that runs across the village...actually below it. Much below the hills on which this village exists. Well, the villagers in Lidru Gaon live their lives as each one of us should be living. In complete bliss!
Their routine consists of waking up at sunrise, preparing food for the day, having breakfast, leaving with clothes to be washed at the river and coming back at noon for lunch. It's a 20 minute walk to the river - for me :) They seem to be immune to gravity and the slipperiness of the downhills!
Once they've washed their clothes, what they do at river is - nothing :) Yes they just be their real joyful selves - chatting, playing or doing nothing.
They then return from the river, have their lunch and sit out in the greens - chatting, playing or doing nothing :)
When heaven exists right here, why die for it? Just pack your bags and get going! :)
P.S.:
Special thanks to my Kiri (Kashmiri) friends Bashir and Zahid, for taking me to places where guides and horsemen do not take you! :)
